“Sherry Curry Nishinomiya” (Sherry Curry) Nishinomiya branch, which we recently covered in an opening article, opened on April 13.
The main shop is in Osaka, and apparently there’s even a branch in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Since they also offer takeout, we stopped by the newly opened “Sherry Curry” and picked up one of their signature curries.

“Sherry Curry Nishinomiya” Dishes
This time, we bought the “Shrimp Curry” (820 yen) from the takeout menu.
Here is the “Shrimp Curry.”
The curry at this shop is originally made with sherry and shrimp broth, but this version also comes packed with plenty of shrimp as an ingredient.
Many people may know sherry as a drink often served as an aperitif, and it’s a fairly sweet wine.
So I wondered if this curry would also be on the sweet side, but once I tried it, it was actually quite spicy…
It had the aroma of sherry and the umami of shrimp packed into the heat of the spices, making it a curry that was spicy and delicious.

The shop uses a meal ticket system, so the ticket vending machine doubles as the menu.

Takeout orders are also placed by buying a meal ticket.
They also sell retort pouch curry.
