Traditional Japanese Candles vs Regular Candles Video Included

Matsumoto Shoten, a workshop for traditional Japanese candles with only about 30 shops like it in Japan, let us try a hands-on experience, and we painted a Japanese candle there. So we decided to put that candle up against an ordinary candle from a 100-yen shop!

For the showdown, we made sure they were the same weight (*^^)vBy the way, they were 9 grams

We covered the windows with cardboard so we could make the room dark, lined up the candles, and got the camera ready!!

Here’s how it looked at the start!

After hearing about Japanese candles at “Matsumoto Shoten,” I got really, really interested in them, so I’ve been wanting to test how they differ from regular candles ← Coming soon! Please look forward to it (*^^)!! Or rather, it’s already been three months since I wrote that… and I finally managed to make the showdown happen.

This video really showed that the flame of a Japanese candle flickers in a big way and is hard to extinguish!
