There’s a Japanese restaurant called “天ぷら” near Hanshin Mukogawa Station.
This is a little confusing, but “天ぷら” is the name of the restaurant. Of course they serve tempura, but they also offer a wide range of Japanese dishes, including seasonal dishes and creative Japanese cuisine.
This time, we visited during lunch and tried the “Lunch Set.”

Seasonal Creative Cuisine “天ぷら” Food
There were many menu items besides tempura, but since we were here, we decided to go with tempura.
This is the “Special Tendon with Mini Soba Set” (1,650 yen).
Apparently, the highlight of this tendon is that it comes topped with so much tempura that you can’t even see the rice.
As you can see, it’s packed with toppings, including tempura of shrimp x3, white fish, lotus root, nori, pumpkin, sweet potato, pickled red ginger, and more, all crowded together on top.
The tentsuyu sauce is poured on afterward, so the batter stays crispy right up until you eat it.
It’s a luxurious rice bowl where you can enjoy the flavors of all kinds of ingredients at once.
This is the “mini soba.”
As you’d expect from a tempura restaurant, the broth is very tasty, and it pairs perfectly with the tendon.
The lunch menu comes with dessert.
This one is cream cheese.
It was a filling and very satisfying lunchtime meal.
