I went to check out the Gyomu Super in Komatsu Nishimachi that opened yesterday.
There was a sign saying the 100-yen shop “FLET’S” will open on September 1. It was written on the stairs to the right after entering, so “FLET’S” is probably on the second floor.

Even though it was around 8 p.m., quite a few cars were parked there.
It looks like points are multiplied by five for the three days of Thursday the 22nd, Friday the 23rd, and Saturday the 24th.
It was still really lively even at this time of day.
There were more customers than I usually see at a supermarket around this hour.
The restrooms are on the right side when facing the building.
You can get a point card for free.
Right after entering the store, there was a point card registration corner immediately on the right.
All you have to do is fill in your name, address, phone number, and date of birth, and they can make one for you right away.
If you make a point card, you’ll receive a stylish eco bag that doesn’t exactly feel like Gyomu Super（sorry for the rude comment）.
You can also get a ballpoint pen and tissue paper(Sorry they’re not in the photo. I left them at home).
However, they said quite a lot have already been handed out, so they might run out today, the 23rd.
Plastic shopping bags are apparently going to become paid from next April too, so if you want one, why not try making a point card?
There seem to be events too
They appear to be holding opening events.
The first offer, a 500-yen gift certificate, seems to have already ended. That means 300 people must have registered as members, right?
On Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th, if you register on LINE, children can take part in a limited candy-grabbing event.
They’ll also be doing other fun-looking events like a tuna-cutting show and a beer event.

There is parking for 60 cars.
Business hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
You can pay with electronic money such as iD and ICOCA, as well as credit cards.
Finally
This was actually my first time going inside a Gyomu Super.
I had this personal image of it being a super-cheap store with a somewhat dim atmosphere, but it was totally a “not what I expected!” kind of place. Inside, it felt like a really bright, clean supermarket.
Of course they had good-value frozen vegetables, but they also seemed to have a supermarket-level selection of fresh foods, alcohol, and more.
If you’ve never been, it might be fun to stop by and see what new things you discover.
