The origin of “津門飯田町”
津門飯田町
This town was created from an area on the border between Imazu Village and Tsuto Village that included “Furuta, Ichinotsubo, Nagai, Nohagi, Kamahara, Sanbonmatsu, Iida, Higashi-Iida, Sendagawa, and Kawakami.” It carries on the name “Iida” from one of those areas. There seems to be a theory that the name changed from fields where farming was done jointly, called （結田）, into “Iida,” and then further into “Iiden.”For details, see here
