A ramen shop called “えだ屋” has opened on the 2nd floor of a building called Calm Plaza in Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi.

It opened in the spot where “いつじ青果” used to be.
Apparently, it’s the second location of “えだ屋,” an izakaya in Koshien.
“えだ屋” Exterior
You can enter the building from the west or south side.
This is the entrance on the south side.
Across from this entrance, there’s a tapioca drink shop called “Bubble Tea Style Eight.”

You can see Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station at the end.
If you look up above the west-side entrance, you can see flowers celebrating the opening.
That’s the entrance to “えだ屋.”

Apparently, it’s not exactly the 2nd floor, but the 2.5th floor.

Inside “えだ屋”
Since we were there, we went inside.
It was a brand-new shop that had just opened the day before we visited for coverage.

There are counter seats on the right.
The table on the left is also counter seating, but right now it’s completely filled with flowers celebrating the opening.

“えだ屋” Menu
Here’s the menu.
It’s a very simple menu, but that simplicity gives you the sense that they’re particular about what they serve.
Since we were there, we ordered the “Shoyu Ramen” (780 yen).
Here it is.
It looks quite rich, but the soup was surprisingly mellow.
It had a deep soy sauce aroma and flavor, but it wasn’t overly sharp at all. It was a smooth, rounded shoyu soup.
The noodles were straight noodles with a nice firm bite.
The toppings were simple too, making it the kind of ramen where you can really enjoy the noodles and soup themselves.
It was delicious.
