The “Manbou Tunnel” was featured on NHK’s “Document 72 Hours” last year, appears in a novel by Junichiro Tanizaki, and is said to have been a place Aimyon often passed through.
A townscape walking event will be held around these “Manbou Tunnels,” which have long been loved by Nishinomiya locals from the past to the present〜😄

Date, Time, and Meeting Place
- Date and time: Sunday, May 12, 9:30–12:00 *Held even in rain
- Meeting place: JR Sakura Shukugawa Station ticket gate exit
- Reception starts: 9:15

Participation Details
- Participation fee: 500 yen (includes a participation prize commemorating the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Kobe–Osaka railway)
- Eligibility: Elementary school students and older (elementary school students must be accompanied by a guardian)
- Capacity: 30 people (first come, first served)

We were planning to write about this before it filled up, but it reached capacity on the night of 4/26.

By the way, this event seems to have been a special one held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the opening of the JR Kobe Line and the 100th anniversary of Nishinomiya’s municipal incorporation.
