I went to the Manbo Tunnel in Hiramatsu-cho today, since the floorboard repairs were completed on March 16.

Maybe the first four boards or so? The colored parts look like they may have been treated with a preservative. The tips of the baseboards have been chamfered.

Near the entrance, about 3 to 4 meters of the baseboards had been replaced. I walked through, and the creaking sound was gone.

Oh! Around the middle, it was still creaking. The smell inside the tunnel seemed a little better compared to before the repair work.

This part also looks like it has been treated with preservative. The most noticeable difference is probably that the baseboards are new.
Here’s what the before and after looks like↓

Even being unable to use it for just one day must have been inconvenient. It would be nice if it can keep being used for many years to come.
