We’ve put together information for 2025 on first shrine visits and whether there will be food stalls at places like Nishinomiya Shrine, Hirota Shrine, and Yakujin-san.

They say the omiki sacred sake and toso New Year’s sake service at the hall will be canceled this year.

Every year, over the three New Year’s days, around 500,000 people visit.

A quick report from last year’s January 1↓
This is Ebessan-suji right next to Nishinomiya Shrine. There are stalls on both sides, and the crowd is incredible.
Just to the right after entering through the Red Gate. They’re doing monkey performances. Really impressive! And cute too〜
This is the Upside-Down Pine. It’s the one meant to keep Ebessan from getting poked while riding his horse〜〜.
The sacred horse along the approach. It’s read “shinme.” Apparently Ebessan used to ride this horse around Nishinomiya City. (Maybe he said things like, “Oh! A new wagashi shop opened〜〜!” while making the rounds)
It looks extremely crowded, but amazingly, we reached this spot only about three minutes after lining up〜（This was around 11:50）
And that makes sense. The main hall area is really spacious〜〜
There are tons of food stalls too, so beer and ramen hit just right.
Hirota Shrine
There will be around 16 food stalls!
On New Year’s Eve, they’ll start around 21:00 or 22:00.
On New Year’s Day, they’ll gradually open as more worshippers arrive, and on the 1st they’ll run until around 18:00. They may close a little earlier on the 2nd and 3rd

Yakujin-san (Mondo Yakujin Tokoji Temple)
There will be about 20 food stalls, and as usual, they’ll apparently also be set up along the route from the station〜
Zodiac figurines will be given for 100 yen〜
You can complete the full set in 12 years〜! We’re very sorry about last year🙏

Distribution of the zodiac figurines begins at midnight on New Year’s Day. If the line gets very long, they may start earlier〜
