The “Gusto Koshimizu location” along National Route 171 appears to be closing.

A banner announcing the closure had been put up in front of the restaurant.

It says it will close on Sunday, March 16.

Area Around “Gusto Koshimizu”

Across the street is Kawasaki Clinic.

If you go this way, you’ll find places like Matsunoya, Torikara Stand, and Maruhachi, leading toward National Route 2.

If you go in the opposite direction, there’s Sobatatsu and Chuo Athletic Park, which is scheduled to be renovated in 2029.

After the Closure, It Looks Like a “Retail Store” Will Be Built

There was also a sign in front of the Gusto property showing an outline of the development plan after the closure😃

The building use is listed as a retail store. The project owner is apparently “Oketani Holdings Co., Ltd.”.

After looking into this company, it seems to operate Gyomu Super (Bottle World OK), so there’s probably a good chance a Gyomu Super will be built here~~🙌

The construction period is September 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026. So the opening will likely be sometime from June next year onward.

There was also a layout plan.

It looks like the rooftop will be used as a parking lot. There will also be parking on the first floor, with space for 22 cars in total. Looks like there will be plenty of bicycle parking too🙌

It feels kind of sad….
It’s been there since I was little, so I think it’s probably been around for about 40 years😭 When I think about it that way, I feel like I always just assumed it would be there. I’d been going there since the Skylark days, so I have a lot of memories….

Speaking of the Koshimizu location, I remember once when I was waiting for takeout, they told me, “Please help yourself to the drink bar!” I remember thinking, lucky me!

Customers have been telling us sadly, “I was planning to come after the graduation ceremony or kindergarten graduation ceremony….”
We are filled with gratitude for everyone who has used our restaurant over the years.

Some people may come without knowing that we are closing, so we would appreciate it if you could publish this as an announcement.

When I think of Gusto, I remember it as one of the first places with a drink bar. Not this Gusto in particular, but staying up late at night talking endlessly with friends. So nostalgic. The value was amazing, and I often ordered the hamburger steak & fried young chicken on Uber Eats. I feel like there are going to be a huge number of Gusto refugees in this area. Thank you for operating all these years! Great work.

Finally

The Gusto in Koshienguchi also closed in 2022. That same year, the Gusto on the Nakatsuhama Line was renovated. Come to think of it, Skylark Co., Ltd.’s Kansai factory has been in Naruo for a very long time too, so Nishinomiya actually has a surprisingly deep connection with the company. Still, it’s sad to see the number of restaurants decreasing.
