There are as many as 20 supermarket brands just within Nishinomiya City. They range from upscale supermarkets to everyday stores that are easy on the wallet. Try visiting a few near you and find your favorite.

Resident Registration and Other Procedures
If you’ve moved to Nishinomiya, the first thing you’ll need to do is complete your move-in registration. Nishi2 has also written about how to start water service.
Transportation in Nishinomiya
Hankyu Railway
This line runs along the mountain side of Nishinomiya. During the daytime, trains run every 10 minutes, and whichever train departs first will get you to Nishinomiya-kitaguchi Station fastest, whether it’s a limited express or local train. See the stops here.
JR West
For the Kobe Line (Koshienguchi, Nishinomiya, Sakura Shukugawa), take “A Rapid” or “A Local” trains, and for the Takarazuka Line (Namaze, Nishinomiya-Najio), take “G Rapid,” “G Local,” and similar trains. Even if the train has a different letter, you can transfer across the platform at Amagasaki Station, so you’ll be fine.

If you take a local train, it’s usually more convenient to transfer at a major station. Hanshin Railway has lots of trains and stations, so it’s pretty handy. See the stops here
Shopping Facilities
This is the familiar Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens! Of course, it’s extremely convenient.
There’s also ACTA Nishinomiya at Nishinomiya-kitaguchi. It even has three 100-yen shops, which is super convenient.
There’s also “EBISTA Nishinomiya” at Hanshin Nishinomiya Station,
and “Eki-ma Imazu” at Imazu Station. One of Nishinomiya’s great points is that it has 10 shopping facilities in total.
Events
Spring
Nishinomiya City’s official flower is the cherry blossom. There are probably quite a lot of Nishinomiya residents who love hanami. This is a famous spot called Haruhi-zaka.
The cherry blossoms at Shukugawa Park have been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots by the Japan Cherry Blossom Association, and the nighttime illumination is beautiful too.
Summer
Summer in Nishinomiya means the high school baseball tournament. Nishinomiya also has events called “Churentai” and “Shorentai,” where elementary and junior high school students can go inside Koshien Stadium. By the way, the Coming of Age Ceremony is also held at Koshien Stadium!
And another major summer event is summer festivals! Anyone who wants to enjoy a festival is welcome! Nishi2 visits festivals in all kinds of local areas too.
Autumn
When you think of autumn, you think of danjiri festival floats. Nishinomiya alone has 11 groups!
In October, the “Nishinomiya Citizens’ Festival” is also held in front of City Hall. Last year was the 100th anniversary, and Mecha Miyatan appeared.
Winter
The New Year means hatsumode shrine visits, but Nishinomiya residents also make sure to go to Toka Ebisu.
At the annual “Fukuotoko Selection” on January 10, not only serious competitors but also shrine visitors can run slowly from the back.
Nishinomiya is also a sake brewery town, and in February, the Nada Gogo brewery openings are held too.
