I noticed a sign stuck right into the sand at Omaehama Beach.
Quiz: what kind of sign is it?

This is the sign.
It’s planted right into the sand.

The next photo is a hint.
If you want to see it, take a look. If you’re confident, try answering without looking!
- 水上バイクの乗り入れ禁止31.2%(73票)
- 魚釣り・遊泳禁止17.9%(42票)
- 芝生エリアはバーベキュー禁止49.6%(116票)
- デート禁止1.3%(3票)

If you squint at the sign, it kind of looks like “No resting for water birds,” “No curling,” or “No crocodiles allowed”.

Here’s the answer.
It was “No launching or landing personal watercraft” ♪
That would be dangerous, after all. There were no crocodiles at Omaehama.

By the way, there was another sign stuck into a different part of the beach too.

(Top) No pretend sword fights, (bottom) no carrying clubs around
Just kidding. Sorry.

Golf and baseball are prohibited.
There are houses behind the beach too, after all. (Good kids shouldn’t swing clubs around either.)
Here it is on the map↓
The address is 6-25 Nishihatocho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

Little by little, it seems more people are getting out and enjoying marine sports.
We hope the day comes soon when everyone can spend time outside and have fun to their heart’s content again.
