Some of the model homes at ABC HOUSING, a housing exhibition center in Kurakakemachi along the Fudabasuji Line, are being demolished.

The building being demolished is probably the Misawa Homes model home. I’m not sure whether they’re completely tearing it down and rebuilding it, or just partially renovating it.

It’s the dark-looking building to the left of the white building in the back. From the front, it doesn’t look like it’s being demolished at all, so it’s easy to miss.

By the way, the home builders on display here seem to be these five: Sumitomo Forestry, Sekisui Heim, Sekisui House, Panasonic Homes, and Misawa Homes. Website

Home builders seem to keep coming out with new products? new houses? all the time, so I’d been wondering whether housing exhibition centers ever get renewed, but it looks like they really do demolish the old ones properly. Looking at the latest homes is super fun, just going “wow, that’s nice, that’s nice,” but I always worry that a salesperson might come at me full force, so it’s hard to just casually walk in.
