The annual “Nishinomiya Matsuri” held at Nishinomiya Shrine will apparently be held this year with major changes to the program in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Here’s what it looked like last year↓
In a typical year, Nishinomiya Matsuri gets lively with performances and danjiri float parades like this. This year, however, the dedication performances, children’s procession, children’s barrel mikoshi, and danjiri parade have been canceled. The annual festival ceremony and the sea procession ritual are planned to be held only with those involved.
Please also note that the bus from the shrine to the yacht harbor will not be operating this year.

We hope COVID-19 ends soon so everyone can enjoy Nishinomiya Matsuri as usual next year.
