A section where we turn “a quick question for readers + the results of the previous question” into an article: “Nishitsu Survey (temporary title)”👏
(This is a tribute project inspired by Hirakata Tsushin, where Hiratsu does surveys.)
Last time’s survey was
“Which mobile carrier do you use?”

Survey period: December 11-December 15
Number of responses: 143
This was the second-highest number of responses since we started doing surveys!! (By the way, the highest was “koohen, keihen, kiihin”, so close by just 6 votes!)
The government has also been pushing for “lower mobile phone charges,” so I think interest was high.
Now then, let’s announce the results everyone’s curious about!
Survey Results for “Which mobile carrier do you use?”
| Carrier | Votes |
|---|---|
| Other | 48 votes |
| docomo | 43 votes |
| AU | 28 votes |
| SoftBank | 24 votes |

Among the three major carriers, docomo took a clear first place. AU followed, then SoftBank.
Incidentally, the national market share order is also docomo, au, then softbank, so Nishitsu readers’ shares match the national average. (Source for 2019 share data)
I’m sure you’re wondering what’s included under “Other,” so let’s take a look.
| Carrier | Votes |
|---|---|
| mineo(マイネオ) | 10 votes |
| UQ mobile | 9 votes |
| Y!mobile | 9 votes |
| 楽天モバイル | 7 votes |
| OCNモバイルONE | 3 votes |
| BIGLOBEモバイル | 3 votes |
| iijmio | 2 votes |
Believe it or not, mineo(マイネオ) came in first!
It’s impressive that it beat out au’s sub-brand UQ mobile, SoftBank’s sub-brand Y!mobile, and Rakuten Mobile (now a main carrier)!
Others said they use services such as BIC SIM, LINE Mobile, Japan Communications, and FREETEL.
Now, let’s announce the survey results for docomo’s recently announced “ahamo,” which offers 20GB per month for 2,980 yen!

Eighty-five Nishitsu readers answered that they would not switch.
On the other hand, only six people said they would switch.
There are still a lot of unclear points, so many people may still be unsure.
The other day, I watched a YouTube video where someone asked docomo 30 questions about ahamo.
What personally surprised me was that apparently you can’t do consolidated family billing. Though it seems like you may be able to do it if you use this.
Also, applications and support will apparently be completely online-only, with no basic support by phone or in stores. In other words, it seems to be only via the web or the dedicated app.
Next Survey
Next time, the question is:
“Which supermarket do you use most often?”
This year, three Life supermarkets opened one after another in Nishinomiya, and places like the Co-op in ACTA and Gourmet City in Imazu were renovated.
So there has been quite a bit of supermarket-related news.
With that in mind, this time we decided to do a survey asking which supermarket you use most often!

Survey results are here↓↓
There are six questions:
- Which supermarket do you use most often?
- Please tell us why.
- How old are you?
- Please tell us your gender.
- Please tell us the area where you live (whatever area you think applies is fine)
- If you have any opinions, requests, comments, or questions for Nishinomiya Tsushin, Nishitsu, or our members, please feel free to write them here (optional)
※ We may introduce survey responses in an article🙇♂️
We’re waiting for your responses. ↓↓↓
(If the embedded form does not appear, please use this link!)
The survey period is 6 days.
The deadline is December 23.
