The 10th of every month is Tookashi Day.
So today, the 10th, it looks like “Tookashi (Ebisu Daifuku)” will be handed out for free at Nishinomiya Shrine at 10:00 a.m. There are only 180 available.
Unfortunately, it’s raining today. But that probably means fewer people, so it might be easier to get one. Let’s go receive some big good fortune.

“Tookashi” refers to the Japanese sweets offered before the deity during the Tooka-mairi visit at Nishinomiya Shrine.
And those “Tookashi” sweets are handed out for free to everyone who attends the “10th-day visit.” This is held every month on the 10th (except in January).
Even if the free giveaway runs out, they will be sold at Okame Chaya inside the shrine grounds. They’ll also be available at “Meika Meihin Nihon no Aji” in the food section on the 1st floor of Nishinomiya Hankyu.
The folded paper insert inside this Aoyama Kasho “Ebisu Daifuku” apparently has hidden letters on it.
If you manage to get one of the sweets, try looking for them.
