10 years after the 3.11 Great East Japan Earthquake, many people from Nishinomiya are taking part in the “100 People Thank the World Project”.
I think it’s because, as Nishinomiya residents who experienced the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, many people have all kinds of feelings about this.
This article is brought to you by “ALBOBBY,” a salon that supports Nishitsu.

The “100 People Thank the World Project” is a major project where more than 100 people from all over Japan each draw one character using the GPS track of their run. These characters are then connected to create “thank you” in 14 languages from around the world, sharing messages of gratitude from across Japan, together with smiling faces, with the world.
Actually, Nishitsu’s
is taking part as a coordinator for the project.
And here’s the finished work ↓

Right now, the hashtag “#311thankyou” and related videos are being shared from Japan to the world.

Introducing the works drawn in Nishinomiya
Each character in the finished work was drawn using GPS tracks run by people all over Japan.
There might even be one drawn near your home!

This is the “謝” from the Chinese “謝謝”
It’s around Gakubun Junior High School.

The “M” from the French “MERCI”
It’s beside the Shukugawa River, around Kita-Shukugawa.

The “я” from the Mongolian “Баярлалаа”
How do you even read that? It’s next to Mondo-Yakujin Station! The way they used the diagonal line of Route 171 is brilliant.

The “O” from the Portuguese “OBRIGADO”
A big loop all the way around Ebessan.

The “S” from the Malay “Terima kasih”
This looks like the area around Mukogawa Women’s University and Mukogawa Danchi.

The “A” from the Malay “Terima kasih”
Mondo-Yakujin Station appears again! They’re using the diagonal angle for the A. This is around Saigoku Kaido and Yakujinsan-suji.

The “台” for a message to Taiwan (separate edition)
That’s around Koshien Nibancho! The character is so neat it looks like a teacher’s example.

The “好” from “台日友好” for a message to Taiwan (separate edition)
North of Hanshin Koshien Station! It was drawn across quite a wide area, including Nakatsuhama Line, Koshien-suji, and Naruo-Mikage Line.
