It looks like 45 danjiri floats will gather at JR Settsu-Motoyama for the “Reiwa Celebration Danjiri Parade,” held as an event celebrating the new era name. Two floats from Nishinomiya’s Koshikiiwa Shrine will also be taking part. This is not an event within Nishinomiya City, but since the danjiri from Koshikiiwa Shrine will be joining this historic event, we’re introducing it here.
We went to see it ↓ (Updated 5/1)

Traffic May Be Congested on Kita-Shukugawa-dori, Koshikiiwa-suji, and Other Roads the Danjiri Will Pass Through
The danjiri are scheduled to take a route along Kita-Shukugawa-dori and enter Ashiya City.
Because of this, traffic congestion is expected on related roads such as Koshikiiwa-suji and Kurakuen-guchi-dori.

The two danjiri floats from Koshikiiwa Shrine, No. 1 and No. 2, will gather at the event.
Danjiri Parade Route Map

Please note that entry onto the parade route is prohibited while the parade is underway.
The danjiri from Koshikiiwa Shrine will probably depart at 6:50, pass Sanjo Hachiman Shrine around 8:50, pass south of Inari Shrine around 9:20, and arrive at the ceremony venue around 10:00.
The Weather Forecast for the Day Looks Like Cloudy, Then Rain
The weather forecast for May 1, Reiwa 1, is rain.
Let’s compare the weekly weather forecasts for Nishinomiya City (Hyogo Prefecture for the Japan Meteorological Agency) announced as of April 28 by Weathernews (W) and the Japan Meteorological Agency (K).
The temperature shows the low and high from the two weekly forecasts.
| W | K | Temperature | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st (Wed) | Cloudy, then rain (60%) | Cloudy with occasional rain (50%) | 13–23°C |
It looks like it may rain that day, so bringing a raincoat is probably the safer choice.(Umbrellas are reportedly prohibited because they are dangerous and block the view of people behind you)
Final Thoughts
I’ve never seen 45 danjiri floats gathered in one place before. It’s sure to be a heart-pounding sight.
This seems like an event that will give you an incredible amount of energy. Around 20,000 visitors are expected, so if you plan to go, please be very careful.
