River cleanup work is being done at the Tsutogawa River bridge near KFC in Nishikita.

Apparently, they’re pumping mud up from the bottom of the pond.
In the middle of winter, they’re diving into the murky river to do this work. We’re truly grateful that they’re cleaning it up.
It’s unclear whether this cleanup work is related to the incident on December 5 last year, when mortar caused the Tsutogawa River to turn cloudy white and carp and crucian carp died.

According to someone from the neighborhood, carp and crucian carp are alive downstream. As expected, there weren’t any here.
They were working with snorkels. It really is tough work.

Apparently, the Tsutogawa River’s source is water from the Mukogawa River and spring water from the Sanyo Shinkansen’s Rokko Tunnel.
I thought it only came from the Mukogawa River.
