It looks like Typhoon No. 14, one of the strongest on record, is expected to make landfall in Kyushu tomorrow, 9/18. Nishinomiya may also see its effects from Monday the 19th through Tuesday the 20th.
Here at Nishitsu, we ran a survey asking how people are preparing for the typhoon, and received the following comments.
(Thank you very much for sharing your preparedness tips!!)

Keeping your gas tank full is apparently recommended as a disaster preparedness step, since your car can provide a heated or air-conditioned space during a power outage, and can also be used to charge smartphones.

Motorcycle covers apparently act like yacht sails, catching the wind across their entire surface, which makes motorcycles several times more likely to fall over.

When drying laundry indoors, it seems you can use a dehumidifier and air circulator, or the dehumidifying function on your air conditioner.

You never know what the wind might send flying, so when a storm warning is in effect, it’s probably best to stay away from windows and hunker down indoors.
