On Saturday, May 31st, a tour of the Nishinomiya Battery will be held.
Details below↓
What Is the “Nishinomiya Battery”?

The Nishinomiya Battery is a nationally designated historic site located in Nishi-Hatoshicho, Nishinomiya. In the late Edo period, the Tokugawa Shogunate, feeling uneasy about national defense, planned to build batteries along Osaka Bay. Construction was completed in 1866 under the direction of Katsu Kaishu. The interior was equipped with a well and an ammunition depot, but during test firing, smoke filled the structure, and it was never used in actual combat. Apparently, the rooftop was even used as a beer garden during the Meiji era.
