We heard that “ラーメン泰侖（タイロン）,” which we covered the other day in an opening article, was set to open on December 9, so we went to check it out. But we found this notice posted there.
Oh.
Apparently, the launch of the “Tomato Miso Ramen” had been postponed.
Too bad.
But when we happened to pass by today (the 13th)…
Whoa!!!
It was ready sooner than expected.
We had to try it!!
So we stopped by the shop.

“ラーメン泰侖（タイロン）” Food
This is the “Tomato Miso Ramen” (780 yen).
You can’t see the noodles in the photo, but they’re thin, straight noodles.
The toppings are sautéed onions and pork, and the soup is a tomato-based miso broth.
Tomato ramen has become fairly common lately, but this was our first time trying tomato miso ramen.
It had a bit of heat, probably from doubanjiang chili bean paste.
The acidity of the tomato, the richness of the miso, and the spiciness of the doubanjiang all came together in a bowl that felt like Chinese, Japanese, and Italian flavors all at once.
The flavor was complex, so it’s hard to describe it precisely…
But in any case, it was delicious!
