We found an overpass under Route 43 where people over 170 cm tall might scrape their heads.
We discovered an overpass with road signs showing height limits of 1.6 m and 1.7 m.（This is the south side）
The road running above it is Route 43.
There are similar signs on the opposite side (the north side), too.
If these signs are accurate, this would be lower than two of Nishinomiya’s three “Manbou Tunnels,” which are famous for being extremely low!
If true, this is a huge deal.
At this point, I, at exactly 170 cm tall, had no choice but to walk through it myself and see if it would shave my head.
I decided to walk through what looked like the lowest spot, right next to the 1.6 m height-limit sign, as a 170 cm-tall person.
I took on the challenge while imagining myself appearing in the next article with my head wrapped in bandages.

I got through just fine. In fact, I even had about a hand’s width (around 10 cm) to spare!
So the height is probably about 180 cm.
Why it says 1.6 m is a mystery. Maybe they posted a number with plenty of extra caution.
Personally, I was hoping to get a photo of my face smashing into the underside of the overpass, but it wasn’t meant to be.
I swear I’ll try again if I grow another 10 cm. Better drink lots of milk.
