Aiming for completion next June
According to Kobe Shimbun NEXT, the executive committee’s representative, Sumio Tsuchiya (76), is calling for support, saying, “We want to leave behind this monument so the horrors of war are never repeated.”
The fundraising goal is 7 million yen, and they appear to be aiming for completion next June.
Nishinomiya Earthquake Memorial Park, where the monument is planned

It’s a spacious park.

Since this is the Earthquake Memorial Park, there is a memorial monument for the victims.

Has the location of the air-raid shelter been identified?
Mr. Tsuchiya of the executive committee seems to have discovered, through Mr. Nosaka’s autobiographical essays and interviews with residents, that the site where the air-raid shelter once stood is now a residential area.

Finally
It seems that the Nishinomiya auntie who appears in “Grave of the Fireflies” is viewed differently depending on the viewer’s age. If you’ve only seen it as a child, watching it again now as an adult may give you a new perspective and lead to fresh discoveries.
