Kansai TV’s “Okabero,” broadcast from 14:27 on Saturday, March 30, featured the wagashi shop “桔梗堂” along Koshien-suji.

What is Okabero?
“Okabero” is a 30-minute program broadcast every Saturday from 14:27 to 14:57. It is a variety talk show set in a bar, where Ryo Tamura of London Boots Ichi-gō Ni-gō plays the bar owner and Takashi Okamura of Ninety-nine plays a regular customer, chatting with guests.
桔梗堂 in Koshienguchi was introduced
On this day’s episode, guest Tsubasa Makoto introduced “桔梗堂” in Koshienguchi as No. 2 in her Best 3 recommended Kansai gourmet picks.
The long-established wagashi shop’s “Chilled Shiratama Shiruko” was featured.
Normally, it seems the cast eats the dishes in order starting from No. 3, but when Okamura saw the second-ranked shiratama, he said “I kind of want to eat the shiratama last”, apparently wanting to eat the No. 1 hamburger first.
He went with the momentum and said, “Dessert is something you eat at the end,” so they decided to save the “Chilled Shiratama Shiruko” for last.
Then came the turn for the “Chilled Shiratama Shiruko.” Ryo Tamura commented, “The shiratama is incredibly soft.” When Okamura ate it in one bite, he groaned, “Mmm!! Delicious!” At the end, Okamura wrapped things up by saying, “I’m glad we ate it in this order,” and “This really is best saved for last.”
“Chilled Shiratama Shiruko” appears to be sold only in summer, so it’s probably not available yet right now, but if you’d like to try it, you may want to check with the shop in advance.
