The Cantonese restaurant “雅苑,” located on National Route 171 just north of the JR line, is an authentic Chinese restaurant that can also host banquets, but they actually offer takeout as well.
Apparently, everything on the regular menu except soups can be ordered for takeout.
This time, we picked up some takeout dishes from “雅苑.”

Cantonese Restaurant “雅苑” Dishes
We bought two items this time.
This is the “Fried Rice” (780 yen).
This is the “Mapo Tofu (Medium)” (1,180 yen).
The fried rice is packed with ingredients such as egg, cabbage, shrimp, chashu pork, and green onions, making it colorful and vibrant.
It’s a classic Chinese dish where you can enjoy a variety of textures.
Whether it’s because of the different seasonings or the umami from the ingredients, the flavor is very complex, making this fried rice feel truly professional.
For the mapo tofu, you can choose between spicy or regular, and this time we went with spicy.
The heat from the Sichuan pepper and the chili pepper seems to hit at slightly different times.
It’s the kind of mapo tofu that is spicy but delicious.
Unusually, it had zha cai mixed in with the ingredients, which added a nice accent to the flavor.
We ordered the medium size, but the portion was quite generous, so if you’re eating it as a regular meal, the small size might be enough.
