Update 6/19: Apparently there are two of them
According to a tip from Kyuso Kamekami, there were apparently two softshell turtles.
So softshell turtles do bask in the sun after all. Since there are two, I’m curious whether they’re a male and female pair.
The location is right beside the Nishinomiya Environmental Learning Support Center (EWC).

Lastly
Apparently, the going rate for one live softshell turtle is around 4,000 yen at cheaper places.
I’ve actually never eaten it before, so I’d like to try it once for a stamina boost♪( ´艸｀)
