Here’s the new sign. Can you tell what changed?
This is what it used to look like. The colors and typeface have changed quite a bit.Especially the character “芦”
The sign at the entrance looks like this too.
This one has changed as well.
芦之湯 is currently undergoing exterior wall renovation work, so that may have something to do with it.
Final Thoughts
芦之湯 is a public bath that opened after the earthquake, so it doesn’t really have the feel of an old Showa-era bathhouse; it’s more of a modern Heisei-era style. I find it really useful when I’m completely exhausted from work, so I hope it keeps going.
