Gambian Restaurant Opening at Aeon Nishinomiya Delayed

The opening date for African cuisine restaurant “JOLLOF KITCHEN” in the basement 1st floor food court of Aeon Nishinomiya along the Nakatsuhama Line has been postponed.

We previously reported that the Gambian restaurant inside Aeon Nishinomiya Mondo was scheduled to open on May 3, but it has been found that the results of the staff’s food hygiene tests (stool tests) will be delayed until after the holiday period. To make sure everything is fully ready, the opening has been postponed until next week.

Safety comes first, so please wait just a little longer!

We’re truly sorry to everyone who was looking forward to visiting during the holidays… But when it comes to food, safety is everything. As soon as the test results are in, we’ll share the new grand opening date right away, so please stay tuned.

The one in the middle is called fufu. It’s made by mashing fluffy cooked potatoes and kneading them with hot water, kind of like mochi. Apparently, it’s a staple food locally.

The curry is said to have a rich flavor from peanut sauce. Definitely curious about that. By the way, Gambian cuisine apparently has a lot of stewed dishes, and since the country faces the sea, fish is also commonly used.
