This episode’s subtitle, “Kyoto–Kobe: A 60 km Remote Murder!?” apparently had a 12.1% viewer rating, making it the highest-rated episode of the show.
The Scene Where Nishinomiya-Yamaguchi-Minami Exit Appeared
It appeared during a scene explaining the route used to break the alibi of the person believed to be the culprit.
It seems to have been an alibi involving a 120 km round trip.
In the explanation, when they said, “Take the Meishin Expressway from the Kyoto-Minami Interchange, pass through Osaka, enter the Chugoku Expressway, and get off at Nishinomiya-Yamaguchi-Minami,” the Nishinomiya-Yamaguchi-Minami exit was shown.
The route used to break the alibi this time was Arima Onsen → Kyoto → Arima Onsen.
From Arima Onsen to Kyoto, it was by train. From Kyoto to Arima Onsen, it was by car.
Nishinomiya-Yamaguchi-Minami Exit Is on the Hanshin Expressway Route 7 Kita-Kobe Line
In the show, they said to get off at Nishinomiya-Yamaguchi-Minami from the Chugoku Expressway, but strictly speaking, Nishinomiya-Yamaguchi-Minami exit is not on the Chugoku Expressway.
The actual route is Chugoku Expressway → Nishinomiya-Yamaguchi Junction → Hanshin Expressway Route 7 Kita-Kobe Line → Nishinomiya-Yamaguchi-Minami exit.
Explaining all of that would probably make things too complicated, so they likely kept it simple.
Lastly
From southern Nishinomiya, you can get to Arima Onsen quickly by taking the Bantaki Tunnel. Since that Bantaki Tunnel (Nishinomiya-Kita Toll Road) became free of charge in April 2018, access to northern Nishinomiya and Arima Onsen has likely become much easier.
