I went to have lunch at 『CASABLANCA（カサブランカ）』, which had its grand opening on July 12〜.

This is the top lunch recommendation: “Shakshuka” 900 yen (tax included). It came with salad, bread, and chilled pumpkin soup〜.
Most of you are probably thinking, “What is shakshuka〜?”, right?
Apparently, it’s an Israeli Mediterranean dish: “vegetables simmered in tomato sauce with eggs dropped on top.”
The egg is so gooey〜〜〜♡
The paprika and spicy cumin flavor really come through, and it’s amazing. Even though it was my first time trying the dish, it felt instantly familiar and easy to enjoy. The authentic version is apparently much spicier, but they’ve made it milder to suit Japanese tastes. Even people who don’t like spicy food can enjoy it without worry〜.
I dipped〜 the bread that came with it. That slightly curry-like flavor is the cumin, isn’t it〜. At 900 yen for this set, the value for money is fantastic too.
This is the “Chicken Schnitzel” 1,000 yen (tax included).
Fried food really does go perfectly with an ocean view〜. The sauce had a nice tanginess and went well with both the chicken and the potatoes〜.
This thin bread is pita bread. It’s the kind of bread you can stuff all sorts of things into. Chewy and delicious〜.
Even the water is stylish〜.
Why is it that on a beautiful day, you suddenly want to eat outside so much〜?

Apparently, you can even try hookah, which has been gaining popularity in Japan too. The kind owner personally gave it a try for us＾＾（The owner also speaks fluent Japanese〜）

Final Thoughts
It was my first time trying Mediterranean cuisine, and I became a “shakshuka” fan〜. It’s great value, and you can fully enjoy a resort-like feeling right here in Nishinomiya〜. It even makes you feel like you’ve taken an overseas trip that’s hard to go on these days〜. Daytime is nice, but I think it would also be great for a date at night. This summer, Nishinomiya Beach Resort is the place to be.
