A dagashi candy shop called “音菓子屋 ゆうちゃん” near JR Nishinomiya Station had its pre-opening, so we went to take a look.

Show Us the Shop!
音菓子屋 ゆうちゃん is a dagashi candy shop, but as part of its opening event, you can do things like yo-yo fishing, just like at a summer festival.

Apparently you can choose either super balls or yo-yos.

Since it operates inside the standing bar 立ち飲みゆ~すけ, the handwritten menus and slightly chaotic atmosphere really give it that dagashi shop vibe.

The boxes lined up under the counter are packed with 10-yen dagashi, the kind you hardly see these days. The prices are almost unbelievably cheap.
The wholesale price is apparently around 9 yen or 8 yen, so selling 10 pieces makes about 10 yen profit.

You can buy the Tokyo-exclusive Umaibo “Cinnamon Apple Pie” flavor in Nishinomiya. Of course, it’s 10 yen.

A candy grab costs 100 yen per try, and even kids can apparently grab 20 to 30 pieces.
(Even though it costs 100 yen, it’s apparently worth about 175 yen. Is that okay?)

First prize, second prize, and so on. Could this be…

Yes. You can also do a lottery draw for 100 yen per try. 魔法使いゆーる。ちゃん properly shows you beforehand that the first- and second-prize slips are inside.

It’s the Demon Slayer era. They’ve got that covered too.

Apparently they’re even issuing a point card where you earn points just by coming to the shop.
It reminds me of how happy I used to be collecting stamps for morning radio exercises, so kids must enjoy this kind of thing too.
For now, we bought all 48 types of dagashi except for the drinks↓

Two baskets completely full!
Calculating everything looked pretty tough. Sorry m(__)m
Here’s a question!

(*Yo-yos are not included in the total)

- 1220円9.7%(28票)
We went to 音菓子屋. There’s sound too↓
The sound performer is amazing!↓

He ended up surrounded by kids. He was collecting tons of 1UP mushrooms♪

Dagashi shops are already pretty rare.
It’s summer vacation, and the prices are super cheap, so definitely go experience 音菓子屋 for yourself.
