When it’s so close by, you surprisingly don’t go all that often: KidZania Koshien. But once you step inside, it’s seriously exciting: KidZania Koshien.
We went to check out the pavilion where you can “make a mini randoseru backpack”, which started yesterday, 3/20, at KidZania Koshien. A pavilion is one of the facilities where kids can try out different jobs
This is the entrance to KidZania Koshien. It looks like an ANA boarding gate, which is pretty exciting, right? It really gets your heart going.
Did you know why the KidZania city is set at night? Apparently, “the nighttime city is something children see as grown-up and exciting.”
When you think of KidZania, you think of ambulances and fire trucks moving around, don’t you? The sounds are great too.

Here we are.
This is Ikedaya’s “Randoseru Workshop.” It’s on the 2nd floor, across from Nichirei’s Food Development Center.
You can make a surprisingly authentic mini randoseru like this. It’s about 1/10 scale, and you can take it home. There are four colors: black, red, chocolate, and navy, but which colors are available depends on the day. Today, you could choose between black and red
The job is “randoseru craftsperson.” Capacity is 4 participants, and it takes about 45 minutes. The salary is 8 kidZos.

You can eat soft serve as a customer at NISSEI’s Soft Cream Shop. You’re a customer, but you make it yourself. The experience takes 15 minutes
For spring only, they have the Sofgurt white peach and milk parfait. This definitely has us curious.

The supervisor carefully teaches everyone how to make the mini randoseru, like this.
They attach parts to the cowhide, even using a hammer along the way.
Look at that serious expression! She’s only 7 years old. She looks like a real craftsperson, doesn’t she? Apparently, she came all the way from Yokohama to Koshien by Shinkansen
They weave the string through while looking at the sample. As they wondered, “Does the string go through from the top? From the bottom?” the supervisor gently showed them what to do.
A 10-year-old boy from Aichi. Look how proud he is after finishing his mini randoseru! It turned out amazing!
At the end, he said, “I want to become a craftsperson.” You absolutely can!!
Right now, the “Spring Festival” is underway, with all kinds of spring break-only activities, including a super cute spring-only dance at the city clock.
By the way, did you know you can only withdraw kidZos until age 15? KidZania is only open to kids up to age 15, after all
KidZos earn 10% annual interest, compounded every six months, so when you go check, you might find yourself rich.
