You can buy Pokémon Card Game items here for 1,000 to 3,000 yen. Card game vending machines seem to be a fairly recent thing, so this one lets you pay with QR code payment services like PayPay.
By the way, a card game vending machine had also been installed at Kappa Sushi in Maehamacho,

and when it was first installed, it sold three types of cards: Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Super Dragon Ball Heroes. But since around this year, it seems to have switched to Pokémon Card Game only.
“Why has Pokémon TCG become this popular?” I wondered, so I looked into it a little.
Apparently, their value has risen sharply, and depending on the card, some are reportedly being traded on flea market apps for around 500,000 yen each. I also saw that Hikakin bought one of only eight cards in the world for 50 million yen, and that overseas collectors have been increasing. The highest price ever is apparently 580 million yen, so at this point it feels almost like a lottery ticket.
*Futomaki-san, thank you so much for the photos, information, and for working so hard to tell us the location!!
