Shachobi tried the “Special Sake-Man Soft Serve” at the cafe inside Ozeki’s “Amakara no Sekijuan” on Sakagura-dori Street!

This soft serve is made by blending sake manju🍦

The rice flour cone comes in red and white colors. It was apparently created with an image of Japan in mind during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics🇯🇵

The soft serve itself isn’t pure white, but more of an off-white color.

The first bite feels very much like classic soft serve! As you keep tasting it, you start to pick up a subtle “sake-man” flavor.

The gentle sweetness of the sweet bean paste is so comforting🤗

The rice flour cone has a crunchy texture.

I tend to spill things a lot when I eat, but this waffle cone doesn’t crumble all over the place, so it’s the perfect solution!!

By the way, the “Affogato” we had in a previous food article also uses this sake-man soft serve.

These are “sake manju,” also used in the sake-man soft serve, made by kneading Ozeki’s daiginjo sake into the sweet bean paste🍶

With many sake manju, sake is apparently only added to the outer dough, but Ozeki’s sake manju are made by adding sake from the stage where the bean paste is cooked.

Both the dough and the bean paste are moist, with a rich aroma of Japanese sake

There are several tables toward the back after you enter the shop.

This kind of Japanese-style atmosphere is so relaxing.
