There’s a long-established Chinese restaurant called “甲子園飯店” in the Koshienguchi Shopping Street.
We heard that the restaurant will also be taking part in the “Koshienguchi Bar & Marche” held on November 10, so we stopped by for a visit.
It has the classic look of a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, but what kind of place is it?
“甲子園飯店” Food
The name caught my eye, so I ordered the “Special Set Meal” (1,200 yen).
It’s a set meal with “shrimp tempura,” “sweet and sour pork,” “fuyohai,” and “duck loin.”
Here it is.
It definitely feels “special.”
This is the “sweet and sour pork.”
It’s a classic sweet and sour pork dish.
The pork is coated in sweet vinegar sauce, and the onions are crisp and delicious.
The “shrimp tempura” and “duck loin.”
It also comes with salad and fruit.
This is “fuyohai.”
In Japanese-style Chinese cooking, it’s known as kanitama, a crab omelet.
The egg is fluffy and very tasty.

It comes with “soup” and “rice.”
Just as the name “Special Set Meal” suggests, it was a very hearty and satisfying meal.
At 1,200 yen, the value is excellent.
“甲子園飯店” Menu
For a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, the menu is much larger than you might expect.
The prices are reasonable, but this is a place serving authentic Chinese cuisine.
They also have a weekday lunchtime limited menu.
