This time, we’ve got a report from BOSS＠にしつー読者♪ We’re introducing the “Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken Set Meal” and “Chicken Nanban Set Meal” from “ちきんち”, a karaage set meal shop that has apparently been operating as a pop-up inside another restaurant since the 20th of this month in Shimoyamaguchi along National Route 176! They’re open today, Saturday, April 27 (until 16:00) too✨

The “Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken Set Meal” and “Chicken Nanban Set Meal” at “ちきんち”
Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken Set Meal, Regular ¥1,260(tax included)
You can choose from three sizes: “Regular,” “Large,” and “Small,” with a different number of karaage pieces for each. The “Regular” came with 5 pieces.
The set meal comes with a small side dish, miso soup, and hagama-cooked rice♪
Apparently, one rice refill is free.
The sweet & spicy fried chicken uses thigh meat, and it leans a bit more sweet. I think it’s a flavor that kids would have no trouble enjoying too.
That crispy-looking batter! So tempting. It sounds like sansho pepper and black pepper are used as hidden accents within the sweetness✨
Chicken Nanban Set Meal, Breast, Large ¥1,470(tax included)
You can choose between breast and thigh meat. The “Large” size comes with 6 pieces of karaage.
It was so moist you’d hardly believe it was chicken breast, and it was tender and delicious.
And that batter looks way too good!! With the sweet vinegar sauce coating it, you know it’s going to be good. The chunky tartar sauce is a nice touch too✨

They’re operating as a pop-up inside a shop called 向日葵. It’s next to 焼鳥おでん 鳥進, and this noren curtain is the landmark. All the staff members were women, and the atmosphere was really nice with lots of smiles.
Apparently there’s also a shared parking lot for 12 cars in front of the shop.
