It was a restaurant that used to be in Kagura-cho. I lived in Yashiki-cho at the time.

ミルクバー
It was something like a cafe near the former site of Morinaga Milk Industry’s Kinki factory. I think it probably served almost exclusively Morinaga Milk products, like ice cream and drinks. I remember eating ice cream there nearly 40 years ago… If anyone has been there or knows how long the shop was around, I’d love to hear about it.

When it first opened, it was cheap, and you could choose whichever tempura you liked. I often went there on weekends with my daughter when she was little.

ザ めしや上甲子園店

It has a reliable home-cooked taste that never gets old. You can choose your own original set meal. I’m happy that the menu changes with the seasons. The staff are very cheerful, so it’s a pleasant place to eat.

さつまラーメン
It used to be near JR Nishinomiya Station, around where Frente Nishinomiya is now. I went there often as a kid! Back in the Showa era!

↑ There was a comment about “さつまラーメン” near Frente, and we received a tip saying that it changed its name and has been operating for nearly 40 years as ラーメンの郷あまのじゃく.
Thanks for the info!
カウボーイ家族(甲子園口四丁目付近)
It was a steak chain run by Royal Host. It was relatively short-lived. In the family, there was an older sister character who was the only one supposedly always away on a trip.

For special anniversaries, I used to go buy cakes from here. They’re pricey, but I was always excited by how gorgeous they looked!

カルピ丼

It’s the taste of my youth. It was also featured recently on the YouTube channel あーくですチャンネル. Cheap, tasty, and generously portioned!

すき家

It’s open until late at night, so it’s really convenient.

I went there with my family when I was little. The round building, the fountain at the entrance, the spiral staircase inside… I still haven’t seen another shop as wonderful as that one. Even the shop’s matchbook was elaborate: when you opened the lid of the cylindrical case, there were matches inside with heads in all different colors, like a rainbow.
