In front of Hanshin Nishinomiya Station, new information has been announced about the redevelopment.

What Area Will Be Redeveloped?
It’s the area north of Ebisuta Nishinomiya, including the current bus rotary, parking lot, and Wajo Park〜
What Will the Land Plan Look Like?
A residential tower will be built on the north side along Route 2, and a library building will be built to its south. The residential tower and library building will be connected on the second floor by a deck terrace, and a connecting deck extending from the southern end will also link directly to Ebisuta Nishinomiya〜

The library building will apparently also have private facilities on floors 1 to 3. Can’t wait to see what kinds of shops will move in〜😍
The library building will be 5 stories, while the residential tower will apparently be around 40 floors〜🙌
Which means…?
The tower condo planned for the JR Nishinomiya Station redevelopment will be 35 floors above ground, so could the tower condo in front of Hanshin Nishinomiya Station become the tallest tower condo in Nishinomiya??😆We’re curious
More Details About the Library Are Coming Into View

The library building has an overall wood-grain-style exterior. There’s also greenery planted on the deck terrace, so if a cafe opens there, it looks like it would feel really nice〜😊

Since the front is glass-fronted, it looks like you’ll be able to get a sense of what’s happening inside the library from the Ebisuta side. Part of the bus rotary seems to tuck underneath the library building. The area labeled “corridor” will likely become a route for pedestrians and bicycles. We’ll explain more below
The center will be an atrium, and it seems you’ll be able to move around all the way up via stairs. The floor plans will have a bit of randomness from floor to floor, which could make it a fun space〜♪
Will the Road Layout Change?

Currently, the one-way road you can enter from Fudabasuji Line on the east side passes alongside the rotary and continues through to Ebessan-suji on the west side, but…
After redevelopment↓
Looking at this diagram, the road disappears before the rotary. We can’t say for sure yet, but it might no longer be possible to enter the Ebisuta side from Fudabasuji Line…?
On top of that, the shape of the northbound road extending from that location will also change, becoming a diagonal road that passes through part of the current Wajo Park site. Because of this change, Wajo Park looks like it will become triangular.
Wait! Is the park going to get smaller?
If that’s what you’re worried about…
It’s okay!
There will be two new urban plazas: one along Fudabasuji Line and another on the second floor of the library building(where the deck terrace is). So the number of park-like spaces will actually increase〜
What About Pedestrian and Bicycle Routes?
It looks like a passage will also be created along the south side of the library building on the first floor. That’s the part labeled “corridor” earlier. Since the route passes under the second-floor connecting deck, it seems like you’ll be able to get to Route 2 without getting wet in the rain. Will the second-floor connecting deck have a roof too?🤔
Will It Be Completed Around 2032?
The original plan was for completion around 2030, but including the completion of building construction and the road and rotary improvements, it looks like it may take all the way through 2031, so could opening be in 2032 or later? Maybe.
Finally
The building has a modern, stylish feel, but with lots of wood-grain elements, it also gives off a somewhat traditional atmosphere. It seems like a lovely library that would fit perfectly into the Hanshin Nishinomiya streetscape, where Nishinomiya Shrine is located〜🤗 We’re also looking forward to hearing more about what will happen to the south side of the Nishinomiya Post Office and the east side of Ebisuta, which haven’t been revealed yet♪
