The pop-out traffic safety signs from the “Haruhi Suzumiya” series in Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi have been dressed up for Halloween.
Here’s the scene in front of a certain cake shop in Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi. Can you spot them?
Take a closer look, and there’s a pop-out sign wearing clothes!
It’s pop-out Yuki Nagato! She’s the alien member of the SOS Brigade from “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya,” which is set in Nishinomiya.
“The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” was created by Nagaru Tanigawa, a graduate of Nishinomiya Kita High School, and it features real Nishinomiya scenery in the anime, including Nishinomiya Kurakuen High School, Nishikita Park, and Shinike Pond.You can watch it on rental DVD or paid video streaming sites.

Every year, local residents dress them up like this. In 2020, they were wearing masks.
Last year’s Mikuru-chan looked like this. It seems she looked like this in early October this year too.I missed it.
