“My child was chosen as the anchor runner for Sports Day!”
Here’s some exciting news for moms and dads who want their kids to run faster.

NOBY SPORTS CLUB, led by Nobuharu Asahara, who won a silver medal in the 4×100m relay at the Beijing Olympics, will hold a free trial session on Sunday, March 1.
Here it is ↓

The venue is the familiar Osaka Gas Imazu General Ground in Imazu, Nishinomiya! On the day, top athletes will help kids improve their physical abilities in a fun way! Having an athletics and sports club led by Nobuharu Asahara of Osaka Gas Network right here in Nishinomiya is a real privilege
Even though participation is free, they’re also holding a gacha prize drawing where you can win great prizes.
Applications are first-come, first-served…
Once capacity is reached, registration will close, so if you’re on the fence, it’s probably best to secure a spot first
*Since this is a free event, apologies if it’s already full (first-come, first-served)

It’s not just about running. Kids can learn how to use their bodies
At the free trial session held by “NOBY SPORTS CLUB,”
・Their 50m time got faster
・They were chosen as the anchor runner for Sports Day
・They were selected as a relay runner for the Shorentai (Elementary School Joint Athletic Meet)
Those are the kinds of happy comments many moms and dads have shared. It is led by silver medalist Asahara, after all

What makes it especially great is that kids don’t just “run” — they can learn how to use their bodies while having fun. That’s a big highlight.
For preschoolers, the coaches even help them clean up after practice. These small habits probably help nurture independence and emotional growth too.
Athletics programs at the trial session (3 courses)
Sample program content: obstacle races / exercises using balls / rhythm programs / dashes, etc.

① Preschool Program
Check-in: 9:45〜10:15
Time: 10:15〜11:15 (60 minutes)
Eligibility: Born between April 2020 and March 2022 (new middle to senior kindergarten age)
Capacity: 25 parent-child pairs (1 guardian per child)
*Only the preschool program is parent-child participation
② Lower Elementary Program
Check-in: 10:45〜11:15
Time: 11:15〜12:30 (75 minutes)
Eligibility: New 1st to new 3rd graders from April
Capacity: 100 participants
③ Upper Elementary Program
Check-in: 9:00〜9:30
Time: 9:30〜11:00 (90 minutes)
Eligibility: New 4th to new 6th graders from April
Capacity: 100 participants

Another nice point is that only the preschoolers program is parent-child participation. Elementary school kids can move around to their heart’s content on their own, so for kids who think “I like running” or “I want to get faster”, this seems like a sure fit.
There’s also a “soccer trial”
Athletics is the main focus this time, but you can actually try soccer too.

Rather than serious player development, it’s more about having fun and moving your body, even for beginners. Soccer is seriously fun, after all
① Kids: Check-in 10:00〜10:30 / Session 10:30〜11:20 (50 minutes) / Eligibility: new middle kindergarten age to new 2nd graders / Capacity: 25 participants
② Juniors: Check-in 11:00〜11:30 / Session 11:30〜13:00 (90 minutes) / Eligibility: new 3rd and 4th graders / Capacity: 25 participants; new 5th and 6th graders / Capacity: 25 participants
Spring new member campaign also available (for March and April enrollment)
Receive one original NOBY T-shirt!
*For soccer, a T-shirt is normally required upon enrollment, but during the campaign, the bonus T-shirt means you don’t need to purchase one (you can start with just half pants and socks)
One of NOBY SPORTS CLUB’s strengths is that it can coach a wide range of participants, from beginners to athletes aiming for the top.

“A new school year starts in spring. I want to help my child build more physical strength…”
If that sounds like you, definitely check this out! It might help give your child confidence when they feel, “Wait, I got faster!”

At a time when people said Japan couldn’t compete because of differences in physique, Asahara won a silver medal in the relay and changed the landscape of Japanese sprinting. The fact that someone like him is watching over and supporting kids’ sports here in Nishinomiya is honestly a huge luxury. This is something more people should know about. Definitely keep it in mind.
