Scaffolding has recently started going up around the building.

The coin parking lot that used to be just east of the building was also covered together with the enclosure. Looks like the parking lot has been closed too, maybe?

Information Around the Former Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Koshienguchi Branch
Across the street is the intersection of Route 2 and Koshien-suji. It’s where the Japanese restaurant “Kagonoya” is located.

If you go this way, you’ll head toward Mukogawa.

If you go in the opposite direction, you’ll head toward JR Nishinomiya. Along the way, there are places like One Karubi, Ministop, the Lawson that opened at the end of last year, and Jijii to Teppan.
Final Thoughts
The teller counter moved in 2021, and last year the ATM also moved to the area in front of the station, leaving this building vacant for a while. Now the time for demolition has finally come. Since it’s in such a prominent spot at the intersection, the scenery is likely to change quite a bit once it’s gone. We’re also curious to see what will be built there next.
