It looks like the Koyoen community bus, “Koyotan Bus,” is about to begin full-scale operation.
(Information provided by Pon-chan and Hashitetsu)
After three rounds of trial operation, full-scale service has finally been decided!
The new timetable looks like this. There are three routes in total: one route centered around Nishiyamacho and routes covering Megamiyamacho extensively.
The routes look like this. All routes pass around the No. 5 Slope and No. 6 Slope areas, so there are times of day when buses come every 30 minutes.
It looks like there will also be an opening ceremony on March 2 (Mon). Mayor Toshiro Ishii is apparently coming too.
Koyotan Bus
Can anyone ride it?
Anyone can ride it. (It might also be useful for a pilgrimage to locations from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.)
Does it run every day?
It operates on weekdays only. (No service from December 30 to January 3)
How much is the fare?
- Junior high school students and older pay 300 yen, while elementary school students through age 1 pay 200 yen. (Cash only)
※One child under elementary school age rides free per accompanying adult - Coupon tickets are also sold for 1,000 yen.
Which company operates it?
- It is operated by Kobe Sogo Taxi. They will use a nine-passenger jumbo taxi.
Lastly
“Community transportation” is a form of transit designed to make it easier to get around without a car by carefully serving residential neighborhoods. The number of services may change depending on ridership, so let’s try to ride it at least once a month!
※Pon-chan and Hashitetsu, thank you very much for the information!!
