It looks like tonkatsu specialty restaurant “Matsunoya” has released a coupon that lets you get a roast pork cutlet set meal for just one coin (550 yen including tax).

Apparently, it started because their official X account (@matsu_noya) reached 300,000 followers. It’s a one-week-only deal from Sunday, May 18 at 11:00 to Sunday, May 25 at 11:00.

One-Coin Eligible Menu Items

The following three items are eligible, and all are 550 yen including tax.

• Roast Pork Cutlet Set Meal + Potato Salad Topping (usually 780 yen) → 550 yen
• Roast Pork Cutlet Set Meal with Oni-oroshi Grated Daikon and Ponzu (usually 790 yen) → 550 yen
• Miso Roast Pork Cutlet Set Meal (usually 790 yen) → 550 yen

There’s another coupon that was released on May 15, and this one seems to offer up to 30% off on six menu items. It’s part of the campaign celebrating 300,000 followers, and apparently they’ve prepared coupons for 300,000 meals.

The photo is from “Matsunoya” is opening near Hanshin Nishinomiya, so we tried the “Roast Pork Cutlet & One Piece of Fillet Cutlet Set” at the Nishida-cho Matsunoya【Nishitsu Gourmet】.

For example, the Double Roast Pork Cutlet Set Meal goes from 1,050 yen to 730 yen. Combined with the one-coin coupon, this seems like a pretty good-value period.
