We visited “空腹は最高のスパイスカレー,” a curry shop we covered last year when it opened.
It’s located in Nishida-cho, under the Hankyu railway tracks, and it’s a rare spot that’s only open for lunch on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
There’s a lot about this place that makes you curious, so what kind of shop is it?

“空腹は最高のスパイスカレー” Food
There are three kinds of curry, and I ordered the “【A】【B】【C】全部乗せ” (1,200 yen), which lets you try all of them.
Since I was there, I also added a “smoked egg” topping (100 yen) and upgraded to a large serving of rice (100 yen).
Here it is.
The rice appears to be turmeric rice, with three different curries served around it.
The curry in the front is butter chicken curry, made with chicken that seems to have been slowly marinated in spices and yogurt. It was delicious.
On the left is clam coconut milk curry, where the flavor of clam broth and coconut milk created a surprisingly unique harmony.
The cilantro adds a nice accent.
On the right is spinach and cheese keema.
It’s a keema curry mixed with spinach, topped with cream cheese, which gave it another wonderfully unexpected flavor.
This “全部乗せ” is fun because you can compare all three curries.
If you get the “全部乗せ,” I recommend going for the large serving of rice.
After the meal, I had a “hot coffee” (200 yen).
It seemed like they ground the beans after the order came in and brewed it carefully, and it was a very good cup of coffee.
