A little east of the “Jogaboricho Kita Intersection,” where Yamate Kansen and National Route 171 meet, there’s a Toyota dealership along Yamate Kansen called “Netz Terrace Shukugawa.”
In addition to buying cars and getting maintenance done, it also has a cafe, a well-equipped kids’ space, and hosts various community events, making it a slightly unique kind of dealership.
This time, we visited “Netz Terrace Shukugawa.”

Exterior of “Netz Terrace Shukugawa”
It faces Yamate Kansen, so it should be easy to spot.
“Yamate Kaikan” is next door.
The cafe is on the second floor.
If you come by bicycle, the bike parking area is a little hard to find, but it’s back here.

Beyond this is the car maintenance garage.
The entrance is on the opposite side of the bike parking area.
Whether you’re waiting during car maintenance, coming to buy a car, or just stopping by, anyone is free to go in, so feel free to head inside.
Inside “Netz Terrace Shukugawa”
This is the first floor.
There are lots of car catalogs and other materials available.
You can relax here while waiting for maintenance or browsing catalogs to choose a car.
You can also bring drinks onto the first floor.
Go up these stairs and you’ll find “Netz Cafe” on the second floor.
There was also information about various upcoming events.
Inside the Second-Floor “Netz Cafe”
Once you go up to the second floor, you’re already in “Netz Cafe.”
It’s open not only to people coming to buy cars, but to anyone.
You place your order and pay at this counter.
The menu is on top of the counter.
Here’s the menu.
After ordering and paying, you wait at your seat.
Since we were here, we ordered the “Dry Curry” (1,130 yen), “Salted Butter Caramel Toast” (360 yen), and “Netz Coffee” (360 yen).
This is the “Dry Curry.”
It comes with a salad.
It felt closer to “keema curry” than what you might picture as “dry curry.”
It wasn’t very spicy, and had a curry flavor where you could taste spices within the sweetness of vegetables and fruit.
These are the “Salted Butter Caramel Toast” and “Netz Coffee.”
It’s a place you can use both for lunch and as a cafe.
There’s also a kids’ space like this, and moms with children were enjoying a relaxed tea break.
Drawings from a children’s art contest were also on display.
There are piles of books, but…
For some reason, there were lots of niche specialist books on subjects like “natural history,” “kimono,” “cooking,” and “confectionery.”
There were especially many specialist books on Western-style sweets, which I personally found really fascinating…
There are also lots of foreign-language books, but where did they come from?
