The mayor of Nishinomiya has uploaded a video message for the children of Nishinomiya to YouTube.
In the video, Mayor Ishii speaks to the children of Nishinomiya in front of Nishinomiya City Hall.
He explains in an easy-to-understand way why schools have been closed due to the effects of the novel coronavirus.
He also tells children who can’t go to school, “It doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to go outside.”
Schools have been closed, but that does not mean you are not allowed to go outside.
While following the guidance given by your teachers, I hope you will go outside to refresh yourselves and move your bodies from time to time,
and spend each day in good spirits while looking at the cherry blossoms that will soon bloom.
He also asked everyone to stay mindful of protecting their health.
Specifically, he advised children to wash their hands when they come home from outside, eat proper meals without being picky, and get plenty of sleep.

With everything going on because of the novel coronavirus, I’m sure everyone is feeling worn out in different ways, but it would be great if we could all stay bright and healthy by taking care with handwashing, meals, and sleep.
