It looks like the “boundary blocks” at intersections along Route 2 have been repainted in fluorescent colors!
The first place I noticed it was here, at the intersection of Route 2 and Shukugawa.
Since some green masking tape is still left, it looks like the paint was freshly applied.
From a different angle, it looks like this.
Compared with the unpainted curbs around it, this color really stands out!
Hopefully this will help reduce traffic accidents.
“Just how far has this repainting gone?”
Starting from Shukugawa, I headed east along Route 2.
It has enough presence to rival the Don Quijote sign! (You can still see it clearly even when it’s a little dim!)

According to police statistics, traffic accidents resulting in injury occur frequently in Nishinomiya City between 8–10 a.m. and 4–6 p.m.
It also seems that there are more accidents on weekdays than on weekends, and that they occur more frequently on Routes 171 and 43 than on Route 2.
