We tried takeout of three kinds of butcher’s special croquettes from “肉の但馬屋” in Gakubundencho, along the old national highway!
Just as the name “但馬屋” suggests, this shop mainly offers Tajima beef, including beautifully marbled cuts, steak meat, chopped beef, tendons, and horumon at reasonable prices. These croquettes are one of the shop’s standout items.
This time, we got three kinds for takeout: “Potato Salad Croquette,” “Wagyu Tendon Konnyaku Croquette,” and “Minced Cutlet”. They’re all homemade special croquettes!
We were surprised by how big each one was!
They’re huge, just a little smaller than an adult’s fist!!
The roundest one is the “Minced Cutlet”!
It’s packed with sweet onions and finely ground minced meat!
With an irresistibly crispy coating and juices dripping out, this “Minced Cutlet” is pure bliss!
The barrel-shaped “Potato Salad Croquette”
Smooth, gently sweet potato salad turned into a croquette!
You can keep eating it crispy bite after bite without any sauce, and it’s a flavor kids will love too.
And this is the one we were most curious about!!
“Wagyu Tendon Konnyaku Croquette”
Tender “beef tendon” simmered until it falls apart is wrapped in fluffy potato.
The flavor brings to mind a purely Japanese-style nikujaga, with refined sweetness and aroma lingering beautifully.
