Spotted while out running!
In Koshien 3-bancho, I found a small shrine with something incredibly cute enshrined inside.
Wait, what!?
Whoa!!
Something super cute is enshrined here!!!
I went ahead and named it the “Honey God.”
And beside it, smiling gently, is its buddy, a little Jizo statue.

It’s located just north along the street by Koshien Higashi Kindergarten.
In Closing
I was curious about how long these two cute little figures had been there, so I checked the changes over time on Google Maps Street View↓
In March 2012, the small shrine was there, but it was empty.
By March 2014, one “Honey God” had been enshrined there.
In December 2018, a “mysterious paper bag” appeared next to the “Honey God.”
As of July 2020, the “buddy Jizo statue” has appeared.
So what we found out is that the “Honey God” has been living in this little shrine for over six years, and is the senior of the “buddy Jizo statue”♪ A hidden gem of Nishinomiya, isn’t it?
